Apeks XTX50 Second Stage with 40 Hose:

The Apeks XTX50 regulator can be converted from a right handed hose configuration (as supplied from the APEKS factory in the standard) to a left handed one. This feature is known as the Reversible Venturi System (RVS). Changing the regulator to a left handed configuration is both quick and simple and can be performed by any APEKS Authorised Service Technician.

The XTX50 regulator incorporates the new feature of Diver Changeable Exhausts system (DCE). This system gives the diver the ability to change from a small exhaust tee to a large exhaust tee. This gives the user a choice of the wider exhaust tee for minimal bubble interference (essential for underwater photography) and the narrow exhaust tee for a smaller compact comfortable regulator (ideal for use as an octopus regulator).

The XTX50 regulator incorporates a new two-shot high strength composite front cover, improving the durability of the most vulnerable part of the demand valve.

The new ergonomic Venturi lever of the XTX50 has been designed to reduce the amount of grit ingress.

A new silicone exhaust valve has been used on the XTX50 regulator improving breathing performance.

Apeks DST First Stage:

The Apeks DST first stage regulator is ideal for stage cylinder regulator due to swivelling turret.

Unique over-balanced, diaphragm design – as the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium pressure gas in the hose to increase at a rate faster than ambient. This results in superior performance at depth.

An environmental dry system keeps water out of the main spring chamber thus preventing ice buildup and keeping silt and contamination out.

The Teric screen is a synthetic sapphire crystal, NOT the typical low cost acrylic or mineral glass found on other dive computers. Sapphire (whether natural or synthetic) is one of the hardest substances on earth. It measures 9 on the Mohs scale, which is a system for rating the relative hardness of various materials. (Diamond measures 10, the highest rating.) Watch crystals made of synthetic sapphire are described as “very scratch resistant” because they are very difficult – but not impossible – to scratch. Diamond can scratch them; so can man-made materials that incorporate silicon carbide, which is harder than sapphire. So, if you accidentally impact or scrape your Teric on a surface that incorporates silicon carbide, it could scratch the crystal. Chrome plating has very high hardness and impact may scratch the Teric crystal. This is an unlikely circumstance and so Shearwater does not install a PET screen protector by default in order to give the user a choice because any additional material layer on the screen will slightly diminish the intensity and clarity of the OLED display.

This TPU type film is supplied to us by Shearwater Research, manufactured and die cut by Avery Dennison to Shearwater’s specifications for poly-carbonate face plate of the Perdix. Unlike the PET film protector for the Teric, this product is not packaged for end-user application. The film has a “hazy” and unclear look until it is properly applied. The application of TPU film requires special tools and techniques that is critical to it’s finished clarity and it is difficult to properly apply. If your Perdix screen is scratched or damaged, we recommend maintenance service instead of replacing the factory applied film.

The Shearwater Perdix computer protection system is made of solid cut and anodized marine grade aluminum, it is designed to cover the original case by interlocking over the top but also the sides of the Perdix. The tight fit ensures good support, the protector is secured by 1 O-ring to avoid any loss.

This system does not require any tools for its implementation and can be removed very quickly for cleaning.
